Michele Meek (Founder & Publisher)
is
the founder of both NewEnglandFilm.com and BuyIndies.com. She
has personally overseen the launch of dozens of independent film web sites for
clients. She was awarded the 2000 Image Award for Vision and
Excellence by Women in Film & Video New England for her contributions as a
pioneer in the film and Internet industries. In addition, her entrepreneurial
successes have been lauded in leading press outlets such as Inc. Magazine,
National Public Radio, and The Boston Globe. Geoffry Meek (Founder & Web Architect) has led critical web application development for start-up companies since the birth of the commercial Internet. He has built ecommerce systems and catalog systems for the past 5 years at divine Inc. (formerly Open Market). In addition, Geoff worked at Virtual Music Entertainment where he developed proprietary video compression technology and led the product development for Aerosmith's Nine Lives CD-Extra which sold over 5 million copies. Erin Trahan's (Editor) background in film includes production, programming, and writing. She wrote and co-directed short films in college and helped produce several projects on and off over the last ten years. An advocate for youth media literacy and public engagement with film and media, Erin has created and led several projects, such as a girl-focused film series for the Girls' Coalition of Greater Boston, public forums at the Boston Public Library, and events for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston film program. Her focus has recently shifted to writing about film and filmmakers for regional publications, including The Wire, NewEnglandFilm.com, Imagine News, and an initiative to increase gender parity in children's media called See Jane. She is a past president of Women in Film & Video/New England. In addition to work in film, Erin has more than ten years of experience working with nonprofit organizations at the local, state and national level. Gregor Scheer (Forum Moderator) is a director and editor at Vine Street Works. He participates regularly in Coolidge Corner's open screen. D. Christian Harrison (Site Designer) has designed web sites and identities for dozens of successful companies including V-Servers, Windows95.com, Extreme Games and Digital Harbor. As a founding member of ICentral, he created the graphical interface for the ecommerce software ShopSite which was purchased in May 1998 by Open Market, Inc. Since then, he has been an integral part of Open Markets new brand creation and corporate web site re-launch. Since 1999, he has also consulted as the site designer for many of NewEnglandFilm.coms client sites including Harvard Film Archive, Filmmakers Collaborative, among others. He also designed the current design of NewEnglandFilm.com. |
