Editorial Guidelines for NewEnglandFilm.com

  • Use our style sheet for common format and style questions. 
  • Please send all stories as BOTH an Microsoft Word attachment, and as text in the body of an e-mail message to editor@newenglandfilm.com. 
  • Length is usually about 1,000-1,500 words.
  • Please respect deadlines.
  • Every article should adhere to the following format:

    • Story Title (as brief as possible - be clever!)
    Kicker (a sentence that sums up the piece)

    Byline (your name)

    Lead (opening paragraph).

    Body of the story, including interviews.

    Conclusion (perhaps that harkens back to the lead).

  • All articles may include a 1-2 sentence bio or plug for the writer.  Please send that separately if you wish it to be included.
  • Interviews must be done as a Q&A (e.g. A Fabled Life) or as an edited profile with direct quotes interspersed (e.g. Out-Spoken).
