I am interested in obtaining a list of places that offer reputable film acting classes North of Boston and more specifically in the Merrimack Valley. Would you be able to provide? Thank you.

Story Productions posted under "jobs" looking for actors and actresses for a comedy but did not provide any contact information. Is there a way you can let them know they need to provide contact information so local talent can send headshots and resumes?

I posted an event listing about the Mondays at Matt's, Not Yer Daddy's Headshot Clinic and thought I remember seeing something about headshots in the classified ads.

But I couldn't find anything other than calls for talent on there this time.

Can I post it in the classified ads or is that the wrong section?

In NYC, Florida and LA, actors have agents that work with casting and production companies to get actors auditions. In Boston, there are 2 casting places,(that I know of), and they want money from actors to represent them. Why no agents? I haven't been able to audition in New England, let alone book something for 4 years. I booked work everywhere else.
Casting places get paid on the other end, why should actors have to pay?

I am looking for actors who would possibly like to build a small acting group possibly of say 3 to 5 actors who are interested in doing group work, going over monologues, dialogues, scene work etc. The idea is just to keep fresh by continuously working so our talents become organic and presumably we would learn and grow from each other. I am very serious so please only reply if you have passion and are willing to put in the time.

I heard it on a radio station the other day with Ben Affleck possibly directing but can't seem to find any other info

I've been meeting some agencies and they want me to pay to be on their website? My feeling is legit agencies do not ask for fees except percentage of work?
One said 99 fee to create the page on their site?
Boston Casting is another that wants membership?
New England Models group another?

Anybody have advise or experience with these?

As part of my experimental no-budget short film I need to film a short bedroom scene where a young actress acts nude. She passionately kisses a male actor who is in the same bed with her, and also says several lines. No sexual activity other than kissing. The scene runs for about three minutes, total work time would be around four hours.

According to your experience, what would be a fair compensation for non-union experienced actress for this job?

Its unpaid but if your just starting or would like to be apart of this it would good exposure.

I'm a teen and am having trouble finding films and work for myself. I'd love to be an extra in something, so please tell me if you know of any way i can be an extra on anything.. thanks

I would like to be an extra in any film being done here in Connecticut but I don't know where to start to find somewhere to go to do it. i haven't any experiance but I am willing to do anything.

I am 13 year old girl looking for acting jobs in or close to Rhode Island after July 25th. It can be a paid or unpaid job, and I will accept any role. I can play ages from about 11 or 12 to 14, possibly 15. I've looked on this website, but haven't found any upcoming acting jobs for teens, so it would be great if anyone knew of a job I could take or productions coming up. I need as much experience as I can get!

I don't have an agent and I am not sure where to begin looking for one. There are many in the Boston area but my parents won't allow me to go see all of them. I am so passionate about the performing arts and I know I need to begin now. How do I start? I have been in one independent film and that was the most amazing experience of my life. Now I am caught in rut because I am applying to college soon (of course for film and theater) I just want to start working now.
Any suggestions?

What's the best way to get into the industry in Boston?

Now that a MA is pulling in more film and television productions, are they doing any casting out of MA and New England? (Besides extras) Or are they mostly casting out of NYC?

If they are casting out of MA, are there any talent agents in the MA area representing MA-based talent?

(I'm wondering if this maybe is part of "Hollywood East's" plan, to have a database of not only local crew, but cast as well???)

Or maybe MA-based casting directors?
