Why aren't film schools teaching about the reality of production budgeting?

Why aren't film schools teaching about the reality of production budgeting?
Seems like everyone one this board is looking for something (cast, crew, gear, etc.) for nothing. The reality is that sound is at least 50% of your project, so remember the sound guy when you are renting the latest, greatest camera and lens package.

Does this site have any credits?

Does new England film even have any credits? Who has gotten an acting job because of them? Why don't I know this? Are you responsible for any production or film jobs?

Subscriber Beware

A year and a half ago, I signed up for ActorsonSet.com thinking that it would give me some added exposure on the west coast. The agreement I signed stated that if I was not totally satisfied with their service I could get a 100% refund, which was $98.90. I couldn't get back in touch with anyone, nor get my money back. They ripped me off. Come to find out, this company had done the same to many others. I filed a complaint with the Los Angeles Attorney General's Office, which in turn searched this company out.

How does somebody get into the trailer producing business?

I'm a film student trying to find a way to break into the industry. I've been really good at editing for a while and I love making trailers, sometimes to get people into making a film with me I shoot a trailer myself. Since people really enjoy some of the ones I put together, they get really excited about making the movie with me. I keep looking up certain companies to try and apply as an intern, but the majority of them are based in L.A. and I live in Boston currently. What do I do?

Trademark / Copyright question

Hi all. Does anyone know where I can find information regarding the use of certain trademarks in a film? Specifically, I'm wondering if we're required to get permission from an auto manufacturer if a car's hood ornament or logo is visible in a movie. Thanks much!

Would like to get into voice-over work. Has this area suffered extensively from the bad economy?

Worked in radio for a decade or so.

Would like to get back into a job that uses my voice.

Would love to do voice-over. I have no radio tech ability to handle production, but my voice is good.

Thanks
