michele:Hi everyone - I'd like to introduce you all to the new NewEnglandFilm.com chat.

Today Editor Erin Trahan and I (Publisher Michele Meek) are here to answer your questions in real time!

erin:Hi everyone! Michele, can you tell us about some of the new features of the re-launched site?

michele:Well there are a lot of new features -- some are just improvements on the old such as the ability to post classifieds immediately.

Other totally new features are the ability to create a user profile with a photo, bio, interests, etc.

and the ability to see who else is online and who all the 'members' of the site are.

erin:And the ability to host a live chat!

michele:Yes -- if only someone would arrive to ask us a question!

I guess we didn't leave any questions unanswered -- people are experts at the site already ;)

For posteriety I'll post some ideas I have for future development and people can give us feedback on that.

I'd like to launch the ability to have 'buddies' on the site.

I'm also looking into some ways to have cheap quick ads -- for example someone can pay $10 to have their job listing be 'sticky' for a week.

erin:Is that like having 'friends' on Facebook?

michele:Yeah, essentially. It's kind of interesting how every site is a community now.

mdurwin:Hi Michele. I've been a big fan of NEF.com for years. Great job on the redesign.

Will you be adding additional content creation tools such as blogs, headshots, service pdfs or blogs?

I love the ad feature by the way.

michele:We already have the ability to allow people to have their own blogs - but haven't turned it on

Do you think that would be useful for people?

What do you mean by service pdfs?
