In this course students study the craft of acting with an emphasis placed on developing and understanding the importance of being in the moment and discovering the best of who you are. Students will learn the fundamentals of a cold reading, how to slate, how to audition and how to deliver a compelling performance. Students will be introduced to some the basics of professional presentation skills with practical applications to the acting industry, the business world and to life. Each class includes training in relaxation technique, vocal care and Meisner repetition exercises*.

The LLV Film Festival is pleased to announce that there will be two “back to back” seminars for beginning filmmakers at the festival on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The cost is $10.00 per seminar, with a special rate of $15.00 if a student enrolls in both seminars. The seminars are being held at Mitchell College on Montauk Avenue in New London, CT in the Weller Conference Room in the Clarke Center.

Through exciting and carefully directed theater games, storytelling and movement exercises each child can discover the art of story creation and story collaboration. This class encourages respect, responsibility, cooperation and creative problem solving. The small class size optimizes the positive attention that each student receives. Based on the students' interest and confidence, a showcase performance may be presented at the last class.
