NewEnglandFilm.com does not place people in film and video jobs or acting roles, however we do keep an updated list of available jobs and casting calls at http://www.NewEnglandFilm.com/jobs.htm   We suggest you bookmark that page and check back every few days for new opportunities.

If you are from the US and work in film/video, make sure that you are listed in our Industry Directory  -- fill out a form to be included.  It might also make sense for you to get listed with Crew Referral companies in the area.

New England is a great film community to find work in. We always recommend that people interested in "breaking in" start attending industry meetings on a regular basis. We list those in our Events section Also, depending on the kind of work you're interested in, you might want to join a few of the local industry organizations. How do I post a job or another classified?

All job listings and classifieds are completely free to post and view.  Our classifieds are seen by thousands of people each week, so expect a great response to your ad!  This means that if you don't want people calling you, please don't list your number.  For jobs, always specify if the job is paid or unpaid and be as specific about the position as possible.

A few rules: 

• Do not include any subjective comments like "best film" "excellent film."  They will be removed.
• Jobs, screenplay listings, buy/rent/sell and calls for entries should be submitted via our standard online classified form. Note you must have a free online account first and be logged in.

Listings are posted instantly.

How do I change or edit my classified listing?

If you need to make a change to an existing classified, find the ad on the site and click the "edit" link in the top right of the ad (note you must be logged in and be the author of the ad for that link to appear).

How do I find information about a job or classified you no longer have listed?

We do not save information on past ads, so we can't help you on this one.  Please make sure to copy down information when the listing is online.  Jobs stay up for typically 90 days only.

How do I list my services on NewEnglandFilm.com?

The only place for people to list their services is in our Industry Directory.  Before you are listed, please search the site and make sure you don't already have one! To get listed for free, create a new directory listing 

How can I get in touch with a certain filmmaker?

Our privacy policy does not allow us to give out filmmakers' (or anyone's) contact information unless we have explicit permission to do so.  However, we do have contact information for most filmmakers and are happy to pass on a message (within reason) to them.  The filmmaker can then decide to respond to the message or not.   Contact Publisher Michele Meek at michele@newenglandfilm.com.

How do I find funding for my film?

NewEnglandFilm.com does not finance films or help filmmakers with financing.  However, we do have several articles that may be useful.  For example, take a look at our piece How to Finance Your Film or The Money Web: New Ways to Finance Films for more information.  NewEnglandFilm.com has also started a series of articles about grants, so subscribe to get new issues. In addition, we've added a new category to our industry directory for funding resources and have created a discussion forum for "Film Financing."

How do I find out more about a particular company?

Any information that we have is listed on our site.  Try doing a search for the company on NewEnglandFilm.com.  If nothing relevant comes up, that means we don't know anything. You might try doing a search on Google.com.

How can I get promotion for my film through NewEnglandFilm.com?

Why is it that I always start receiving tons of spam and phishing email every time I post my email in your classifieds section? What can be done about this and why are so many spammers picking out email addresses from your site?

We have the email fields purposefully unlinked so that crawlers can't see the "mailto" tag. However, there are spammers who crawl sites and grab all emails. I'd recommend that you instead let people contact you through your username form (which requires someone being logged in, and less likely to be a spammer). Your contact form on the site is at http://newenglandfilm.com/user/YOURID/contact -- you can link to that in your listing so people are clear on how to reach you.
