A wintry dawn edges out the blizzard of the night. A tired, frantic father on the phone, searching everywhere, fearing the worst. Headlights. A car pulls up. A girl emerges. She weaves her way to the door. In December Thaw, a fight between a single dad and his teen daughter threatens the seasonal quest that represents their close bond. (5 votes) |

Ken,
Well done. I like the casting, the music, the scene transitions .... but then what do I know. The short ends up being somewhat of a downer (don't know if this is intentinal or not) because so much of it dwells on the distance between the father and daughter and is never fully resolved. I suppose it would be too "ployannish" to have greater resolution of the distance between the two. There is not one single parent that has been through the teenage years that would identify with the film. Bravo!!!
