The 7th Independent Film Festival of Boston will take place April 22-28 at the Somerville Theatre, the Brattle Theatre, the Coolidge Corner Theatre, and the ICA. Roughly 100 films will be shown and nightly parties will be held.

The Opening night film is Rian Johnson's THE BROTHERS BLOOM starring Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, and Rachel Weisz. It will screen at 7:30pm at the Somerville Theatre on Wednesday April 22nd.

The Independent Film Festival of Boston closes with a bang with the film WORLD'S GREATEST DAD. This hilarious dark comedy starring Robin Williams could only come from the mind of director Bobcat Goldthwait. Bobcat will be in attendance for the screening. Don't miss this great one-time event!

Come join us for the New England Premiere of Jonathan Hock's great documentary THE LOST SON OF HAVANA. Subject and Red Sox pitching legend Luis Tiant will be in attendance for the Q&A as will narrator Chris Cooper and producers Bobby and Peter Farrelly. There are so many great screening happening at the Independent Film Festival of Boston on Friday April 24th we don't know how you'll decide which to see. Here's a sampling of what's in store:

Andrew Bujalski (director of FUNNY HA HA and MUTUAL APPRECIATION) makes his return to Boston to show his new film, BEESWAX, at the Brattle Theatre at 7pm. Andrew will be in attendance for the Q&A.

Following that, CHIP ON MY SHOULDER, a documentary about the famed Boston hardcore band SLAPSHOT will have its World Premiere at the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square at 9:45pm.

Academy Award nominee (INTO THE WILD) Hal Holbrook and veteran actor Barry Corbin (Northern Exposure, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) will be in attendance with director Scott Teems for the New England premiere of THAT EVENING SUN.

First, at 7pm see Gerry Peary's fantastic documentary FOR THE LOVE OF MOVIES: THE STORY OF AMERICAN FILM CRITICISM. It will be preceded in the lobby of the ICA by a live musical performance. Gerry will be in attendance for the Q&A.

TRUST US, THIS IS ALL MADE UP, director Alex Karpovsky's (THE HOLE STORY, WOODPECKER) third feature film will have its Boston theatrical release at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square. This hilarious documentary follows the legendary improv duo of TJ & Dave over the course of one day showing how they prepare for one of their one-of-a-kind shows. The film had its World Premiere at the SXSW Film Festival and went on a successful festival run at the Sarasota Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Independent Film Festival of Boston, and many others. This film will play for ONE NIGHT ONLY.
