Estranhos Poemas: As Palavras da Claudina Pereira (Strange Poems: The Words of Claudina Perreira) is an experimental documentary about the life and poetry of Claudina, a psychiatric patient in southern Brazil.

“Somebody Like Me” follows Ngunina, a young Maasai woman who was the first in her village to go to secondary school, after she returns to her family home

This screening will include a variety of short film/video work, all dealing with environmental issues, each presents a different perspective; humor, experimental, social-political, and more.
The screening is a part of the ART GONE GREEN exhibit, at the BHCC gallery, November 9 through December 4.

Wal-Mart’s plan to build a large store in a small New England community is the backdrop for this sharp-edged comedy. All goes well for the corporate giant until an 11th hour citizens’ rebellion resists the lure of low prices to reveal another side of the bargain—a side which paves over open land, annihilates Main Street businesses, and rolls back wages.
