7 to 10 Days (2003)
Exit One Productions
Status: Seeking Distribution
Writer and Director: Geoff Eads/ Carrie Sterr
Producer: Geoff Ead, Richard Platzman, Ben Scurria
Starring: Michal Dean, Honor Norwood
Locations: southern VT western mass
Plot: Using a distinctive blend of computer animation, digital video and 8mm film shot entirely on location in Vermont and Western Massachusetts, 7 TO 10 DAYS is a gripping medical drama that takes a compassionate, eye-opening look into the lives of everyday people dealing with chronic illness, while raising important questions about the possible role of environmental issues in viral outbreaks. The film tells the story of Simone Juarez and Neal Goldman, a young man with the Epstein-Barr virus, a chronic disease that attacks the immune system, putting him at risk for opportunistic infections. On a road trip through Southern Vermont's pristine Green Mountains the couple camp in what they believe to be an unspoiled wilderness. After a kayaking accident, Neal develops a strange rash and slight fever. When his symptoms take a sudden, severe turn for the worse the couple enlists the help of a local naturopathic physician Dr. Jody Noé in an attempt to discover the true nature of Neal's illness. As Neal is rapidly swept away on the tide of his sickness he is checked into a local hospital where Simone must engage in a battle of wills with the unsympathetic doctors, a battle that quickly escalates into a desperate attempt to save her lover's life, and her own.

Bangkok Zigzag (2001)

immersion film
Status: Seeking Distribution
Directed by: Mike Dougherty & Rob Kirwan
Written by: Sheryl Feldman
Produced by: Mike Dougherty & Rob Kirwan
Filming locations: Bangkok, Thailand
Genre: Documentary
Plot: This film explores the lives of five motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok, Thailand. These young men, many of whom grew up on rice paddies, have left the country and taken up the lethal vocation of driving motorcycle taxis in one of the world's most famously congested cities. They work around the clock with 120 other drivers out of a courtyard in the Huay Kwang district of Bangkok - a tough but lively neighborhood; one where drugs, gambling and corruption disappear into the bustle of a huge fresh market and lines of street stalls.  The drivers clip past exhaust pipes, shave the sides of buses and maneuver agilely through a metallic sea of traffic. To survive the brutality of the roads, one driver takes refuge in memories of his upcountry childhood, another draws upon the protective power of magic amulets and ritual tattoos.  bangkok zigzag is an intimate portrayal of how these men are negotiating their lives in a rapidly transforming social environment and creating a unique urban subculture as they do so.

Could Be Worse! (2000)

Director/Co-writer/Producer: Zachary Stratis
Director of Photography/Co-writer/Producer: Vilma Gregoropoulos
Special Effects/Animator/Stills Photographer: Mary Kocol
Genre: Mockumentary
Plot:
In this genre-busting feature, director Zachary Stratis plays himself - a filmmaker trying to get his traditional Greek-American family to make a musical film celebrating their lives.  When the character Zack tells his family that the film will include the fact that he is gay, the fireworks begin.  His father is dead set against his publicly "coming out" and his brother and sisters decide that the film should be about them.  As the family takes over Zack's film, their musical numbers reflect each family member's unique slant on life. The twist is that it's all real - Zack's actual family play themselves and the issues that unfold are from the heart.
