WMM is a non-profit organization facilitating the production and distribution of films by and about women through a Distribution Service and a Production Assistance Program offering fiscal sponsorship and a bi-annual filmmaker workshop series in NYC.

Credits:

Women Make Movies' collection includes documentary, experimental, dramatic and mixed-genre work. WMM is known for discovering new and innovative media artists, including Sally Potter, Jane Campion, Gurindha Chadha, and Julie Dash.

Awards:

Sisters in Law won the Prix Art et Essai at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Four WMM films were nominated for Emmy Awards, including Afghanistan Unveiled, Beah: A Black Woman Speaks, and The Day I Will Never Forget.
