Event Location: Cost: $9.75 regular admission, $7.75 for seniors, students, and Museum of Science members, free for Coolidge Corner Theatre members As part of its holiday menu, the Coolidge presents Danish director Gabriel Axel’s delectable, Academy Award-winning film Babette’s Feast, based on a story by Isak Dinesen. Flawlessly directed and gorgeously photographed, this cinephile and foodie favorite, about two elderly, pious Danish sisters and the French political refugee they engage as housekeeper and cook, unfolds with quiet grace and beauty. Its climactic scenes, in which the titular feast is prepared and consumed, are a mouthwatering delight. Before the screening, Dr. Guy Crosby, a professor of food science and nutrition who works with Cook’s Illustrated magazine and America’s Test Kitchen, will explore how we experience taste. This program is part of the theatre's ongoing Science on Screen series. Contact Person: Cheryl WhitePhone: 617/699-7285Posted Email: cheryl@coolidge.org Start Date: Monday, November 16, 2009 7:00pm |
