MAXINE MAXWELL: Late thirties. She has an imperious air and a collection of bugs – especially spiders. She has to reign in the bad behavior of her younger brother
MAX MAXWELL, JR: Writer of trashy detective novels. Early forties, dresses like he's still in the prep school he went to. Bitter, surly, usually drunk.
MAXIMILIAN MAXWELL: 60+ Famous writer, father of Maxine and Max. Thought to be dead, actually kept under house arrest by his children. Despite this, still writing.
