National Theatre Live: NATION at the Coolidge

Posted in
Event Location:
Cost:
$20 general admission; $17 Coolidge members and seniors; $10 ages 15 and under

The Coolidge Corner Theatre will present a live satellite broadcast of the London National Theatre’s production of NATION, an exhilarating adventure tale of survival and self-discovery based on the best-selling book by Terry Pratchett, on Saturday, January 30 at 2 pm. An encore presentation (pre-recorded) follows on Monday, February 15 at 2 pm. Both broadcasts will be shown in stunning high definition on the Coolidge's giant screen.

NATION takes place in a parallel world, 1860. Two teenagers are thrown together by a tsunami that has destroyed Mau’s village and left Daphne shipwrecked on his South Pacific island, thousands of miles from her aristocratic home in Victorian
England. Neither speaks the other’s language; somehow they must learn to survive. Together they come of age as they discard old doctrine to forge a new Nation.

Bravura performances, live music, and thrilling dance combine to bring the spectacular and surprising world of Terry Pratchett's NATION to life.

Tickets available online at www.coolidge.org or at the Coolidge box office, located at 290 Harvard Street in Brookline. For more information, visit www.coolidge.org/ntlive or call 617/734-2501.
