Biography

Born on June 10th, 1982 in Paris, Clotilde Tcherkessoff is the great-granddaughter of Alexandre Benois, co-founder of the Russian Ballets, in Paris, in 1911. Clotilde writes her first short story, The Uncontrollable Laugh, at the age of twelve, in 1993. At the age of sixteen, in 1998, Clotilde writes and directs her first short film: The Suit of the Unforeseen, with the equipment lent by her secondary school. Several short-films follow: Overheat (2000), Minus and Poquelin (after Moliere’s The Bourgeois Gentilhomme)(2002), The Artifaille (2003), from a short story by Alexandre Dumas…

After two years of higher education - Performing arts at Paris 1 university, then international Institute of the Image and Sound (3IS) - Clotilde Tcherkessoff carry on with her training on the ground. In 2003-2004, she is a trainee in stage setting on various television films and she works at the same time on shootings of cinema with Stables Hardy (horses, coaches and accessories). She also participates in other full-length films, as extra. These various activities allow her to work next to Sofia Coppola and her brother Roman, José Pinheiro, Francis Huster, Claude Lelouch, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Claude Zidi, Jean-Paul Salomé, Eric Summer…

With her film Trap for sale, presented in 2006 the Short film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, Clotilde Tcherkessoff sets the comic adventures of a star of cinema and an art dealer in one of the underestimated monuments of the river Loire: the castle of Gizeux.
In 2007, she becomes, during one year, the personal assistant of France 2 television channel’s head of communications. At this post, she participates in the channel’s public relations, notably in the field of cinema.

Fascinated by horses, Clotilde begins learning riding at the age of six. She puts a lot into jumping competition.

In 2006 Clotilde makes a success of the equestrian tests allowing to reach the training of riding instructor. She attends training courses in a great stud farm and at the stables of an olympic champion. Disappointed but inspired by the merciless word of jumping stables, Clotilde writes, in 2008, Fashion Victim, screenplay engaged in favor of the animal cause. On the mode of comedy, this financial adventure reveals the hidden life of sport horses and of their owners.

In 2008 as well, the young screenwriter and filmmaker approaches a new genre. She looks at a « king of the Pop » misadventures in a new light. The story shows the artist overcoming the darkest period of his life thanks to his deep bound with a wild animal.

Clotilde is actually working on two music celebrities’ memoirs.
