Jesse HassingerAbout Jesse HassingerI began filmmaking and photography in junior high school. Continuing my interests and honing them to concentrate on cinematography as an undergraduate at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. I completed a post-baccalaureate year at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston where I focused my attention on experimental filmmaking and large format photography. I attended the California Institute of the Arts outside of Los Angeles, CA where I received a Masters of Fine Arts degree from their Film/Video program. I have studied under a wide range of talent including: Betzy Bromberg, James Benning, Paul Turano, Phil Solomon, Bill Morrison, Patrick Bokanowski, Bela Tarr, and Ernie Gehr to name but a few. While in Los Angeles I worked on a number of professional feature and short films having won a Golden Eagle award for "Exact Fare" and a best in genre award for the Hot Docs short: "I=ME2". My films have been shown internationally in festivals in Paris as well as Boston and Los Angeles. I recently have relocated back to the Boston area to get involved in feature, documentary and short film work in New England.
